Let’s take a moment and talk about facial hair
Unless you are making money as the bearded lady, facial hair is not an asset for a woman. The Hair Research and Treatment Centre at the University of British Columbia in Canada found that 22 percent of women in North America have unwanted facial hair. Having unwanted facial hair can make you look and feel old. Usually, we see excess facial hair when women are approaching or already in menopause.
My mother told me if I shave or wax my face, the hair would come back like a man’s beard. This is not true. In fact, waxing is a great way to remove facial hair and refresh the texture of the skin by removing the dead cells that create a dull skin tone in the face. Most women that come into the salon are looking to remove the hair to the upper lip and chin but are reluctant to remove the fine hairs on the check. We recommend that smoothing the whole face will give you a feeling of younger skin. Other methods of removing unwanted hair include shaving, tweezing, depilatories, and friction (utilizing rough surfaces to buff away hair). Epilation (removal of the entire hair from the root) can last anywhere from several days to several weeks. Each method comes with its own advantages and disadvantages, so it’s important to investigate the pros and cons first.
